چکیده

Managing information systems (IS) professionals in American industry has been making headlines as technology-intensive businesses search for ways to cope with an ever-changing economic landscape. Consequently, understanding and predicting the impact of workforce-related policy and interventions that can influence employee behavior is crucial. This paper introduces three constructs aimed at refining our understanding of the mechanics of retention: pressure to separate, retention frontiers, and separation thresholds. These constructs enable a balanced view of relevant firm and individual level concerns. The constructs also provide a basis for a new approach to economic analysis of the potential effectiveness of action taken by a firm to change quitting or separation behavior: pre-implementation retention intervention assessment (PRI-assessment). We illustrate the application of the new approach using data on the observed separation behavior of 661 IS professionals at a large multi-division firm.

An Application of the Two-Regime Threshold Vector Error Correction Model to Analyze Asymmetric Price Transmission of Milk in Zanjan Province of Iran

In this paper asymmetric price transmission mechanism and nonlinear adjustment between producer and retail prices of milk were examined in Zanjan Province of Iran. For this purpose, a Two-Regime Threshold Vector Error Correction Model (TVECM) and a Sup-LM Test developed by Hansen and Seo (2002) were employed for checking presence of a threshold effect. Application of unit root tests indicated...

A Novel Approach to Obtaining the Optimum Pressure and Stages of Separators

Nowadays, the increasing demand for energy in the world is one of the main concerns for energy supply. In fact, the required energy can be obtained by increasing the production rate of fossil fuels such as oil and natural gas. However, improving the efficiency of the equipment and facilities might have a significant impact on production from hydrocarbon resources. With respect to this subject, ...

Economic growth, Financial development and CO2 Emission: PSTR Approach

The aim of this paper is to assess the sign and magnitude of the nonlinear effects of main socio-economic variables as well as the financial development index(measured by private credit to GDP ratio) on the environmental pollution. Specifically, the interaction of the socio-economic variables with financial development as a threshold variable in affecting CO2 emission is studied. In this respec...

An Experimental and Theoretical Study of the Effects of Excess Air Ratio and Waste Gate Opening Pressure Threshold on Nox Emission and Performance in a Turbocharged CNG SI Engine

Turbocharged CNG engines produce high NOx emission due to the fuel type and high combustion temperature. In this research, the effects of lean-burn and waste gate opening pressure threshold on NOx emission are studied theoretically and experimentally at WOT condition as well as 13-mode ECE-R49 test cycle. A code is developed in MATLAB environment for predicting engine NOx and the results are va...
